Every position in the library depends on the proper installation and reliable functioning of all of the computer equipment. Hardware may include not only PCs, but also Macs, tablets, training lab equipment, digital creation lab equipment and more.  Library staff:

  • Install, configure and maintain equipment and peripheral devices.

  • Install, configure and maintain printers and scanners.

Training Needs Assessment Rankings

Hardware Installation & Maintenance ranked #20 out of 51 self-identified urgent training needs.  It ranked #22 out of 60 topics staff would like training in.  59% (66) of respondents indicated they would like training at the Beginner level, 24% (27) would like training at the Intermediate level, and 17% (19) would like training at the Advanced level.

Hardware Installation & Maintenance is identified as a CORE skill for Sussex County libraries.
