Definition - WJ Competency Index

Libraries have the capacity to inspire, engage and support community members of all ages. Libraries provide an array of opportunities for adult patrons from diverse backgrounds.  Programming staff:

  • Design, implement and sponsor library programs that provide opportunities for information, entertainment and lifelong learning.

The Competency Index for the Library Field includes Programming on pages 40 & 41.

Training Needs Assessment Ranking

Programming was identified as a CORE training need in the Training Needs Assessment. Programming ranked #6 out of 51 self-identified urgent training needs.  It ranked #3 out of 60 topics staff would like training in.  40% (59) of respondents indicated they would like training at the Beginner level, 35% (51) would like training at the Intermediate level, and 25% (37) would like training at the Advanced level.

  • Provide a Start Time and End Time for every virtual event.
  • Take the time to write the event description and be sure to use keywords to help patrons find your event.
  • Select ONE Internal Tag that best fits the event.
  • If you enable an Email Reminder,
    • schedule it to be sent AFTER the Registrations Close time.
    • include the Zoom URL and password.
