AUTISTIC PRIDE DAY

According to the American Autism Association, Autistic Pride Day was first celebrated in 2005 by the organization Aspies for Freedom (AFF), so that the people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) could have one day where they could celebrate their neurodiversity and differences. Thanks to them, it became an event celebrated worldwide."

Autistic Pride Day empathizes the importance of promoting acceptance and inclusion of autistic individuals in society. It is about celebrating the contributions autistic individuals have made as well as bring awareness to the challenges they face. We hope you take this opportunity today to explore some of the resources the library has available about autism spectrum disorder, from medical journals to powerful memoirs to graphic novels.
