Inactive/expired library cards are kept in the system for 3 years so that our numbers are comparable with other states. This does NOT impact length of time for activation of expiration or other associated policies. This began in April 2014, and prior we were keeping 18 months so we will not have 3 full years of expired patron records for our statistics until October 2015.
Federal Definition -- 503 Number of Registered Users. A registered user is a library user who has applied for and received an identification number or card from the public library that has established conditions under which the user may borrow library materials or gain access to other library resources. Note: Files should have been purged within the past three (3) years.
What is our capacity for Library Hours? Libraries can only be open as many hours as they have staff to cover them.
Here are the Sunday hours, for example (green is open, pink is closed). See all days of the week in the attachment.
