Libraries as Cooling/Warming Centers

A representative group from agencies and organizations including Libraries, DHSS, Delaware Climate Hub (UD), Wilmington Office of Emergency Management, New Castle County Office of Emergency Management, and others, have drafted definitions & designations of cooling sites for the state of Delaware. Listed below are the current draft definitions.

Hydration Station: Water access, ideally restrooms; stay up to 30 minutes.
Cooling Center: Seating, water, restroom; stay up to 2 hours.
Advanced Cooling Station: Includes snacks and wraparound services
