Children's Book Week in Delaware
Children’s Book Week is the nation’s oldest and most celebrated literacy initiative. We invite you to join us in exploring this year’s theme: No Rules, Just Read.
We Celebrate the Power of Reading on International Literacy Day
As First Lady of Delaware, Tracey Quillen Carney has worked to support Delaware’s children through the First Chance Delaware initiative. One pillar of First Chance Delaware is promoting learning readiness. Tracey works closely with the Delaware Libraries, the Delaware Readiness Teams, and other advocates to promote learning readiness through literacy, health, and parent-child engagement programs.
In this video, recorded for International Literacy Day, Tracey Quillen Carney talks about literacy as a “superpower.” Her children’s book, Books for Blue, encourages children to explore and discover their own passions through reading. Take a look!
