Importance of Reading Readiness
Studies have shown that families who start reading aloud to their children at birth help to strengthen their language skills and build their vocabulary – two important tools for beginning to learn to read when they enter kindergarten.
Make a record of what you are reading in a spiral notebook, online, or by whatever method you want. The journal itself will make a great keepsake item and record of your child's interests. If you are able, make sure to keep a record of any book that is being read to your child. This includes teachers and family members.
