About the Telescope Program

The Orion StarBlast 4.5″ Telescope kit includes the following items:

  • Telescope
  • Zoom eyepiece 8mm-24mm 
  • Night Vision Flashlight
  • Pocket Guide
  • User Manual
  • Carrying Pouch

Each month the Astronomical League publishes an updated Night Sky Tools. Be sure to print one out and bring it on your stargazing adventure!


Patrons 18 years or older can check out a telescope for three (3) weeks.

The total replacement cost for the telescope is $350.  (Telescope, finder, lens, eyepiece – $250, Flashlight – $20, Laminated User Guide – $10, Audubon Constellation Guide – $10, Pouch – $10) 

Never look at the sun with any optical instrument or permanent eye damage could result.  The library is not liable for any injuries as the result of telescope use.
