Home to over 35 species of exotic animals including two-toed sloths, red kangaroos, otters, an aardvark and more!
Barn Hill Preserve provides fun and educational programs featuring our animal ambassadors. We strive to share our knowledge and animal ambassadors with the community in order to educate the public about these amazing animals and conservation.
For these library programs, we will bring 5 of our smaller animal ambassadors (such as a kangaroo joey, hedgehog, bearded dragon, tortoise, etc.) with us to each library and will have a roughly 45 minute presentation with time for questions and some interaction with the animals depending on the group size so as not to overwhelm the animals.
During our program, participants will learn about things such as the animal’s diets, habitat, social behaviors, defenses, etc.
The nationwide theme this year is All Together Now, and our animals all come together to help teach the community.

Please email Sarena Deglin sarena.deglin@lib.de.us at DDL first! But if it is a time crunch this would be the next best place to turn. Some of it won't apply because it involves statewide details that DDL handles on your behalf.
The SEAL Kits have arrived at DDL. Sarena is processing them into smaller, more manageable kits to loan to libraries for in-house programming. They will be ready in May 2023.
Please browse and place reservations using the LibCal equipment module: https://delawarelibraries.libcal.com/reserve/solareclipsekits
Please reserve only one kit at a time so that all libraries have the opportunity to explore the solar eclipses with their patrons.
