2023 School Summer Reading Lists: Wilmington Christian School Grades 6 - 12

This guide provides links to the Delaware Library Catalog for school summer reading lists.for public, private, and charter schools.

Grade 6

Read the following:

Read 1 additional book. Suggestions included at the above link.

Grade 7

Read the following:

Read 1 book of your choice, fiction or nonfiction, from a Christian author. See list for Grade 7 above.

Grade 8

Read a book, of your choice, based on the Holocaust. It can be fiction or nonfiction, but must be at least 150 pages long. You may not read The Diary of Anne Frank or The Boy in the Striped Pajamas.

Read 1 of the following 2 books:

Grade 9 - CP

Choose any novel or work of nonfiction containing at least 150 pages that you have not previously read.

Grade 9 - Honors

Choose any novel or work of nonfiction containing at least 150 pages that you have not previously read.

Grade 10 - CP

Choose any novel or work of nonfiction containing at least 150 pages that you have not previously read.

Grade 10 - Honors

Choose any novel or work of nonfiction containing at least 150 pages that you have not previously read.

10th Grade Extra Credit Reader’s Choice: CP and Honors:

Grade 11 - CP

Read and watch the following:

Required: READER’S CHOICE - Choose any fiction or nonfiction novel that contains at least 150 pages. You may NOT choose a book that you have previously read, is a comic, graphic novel, children’s book, or anime. 

Grade 11 - Honors

Required READER’S CHOICE - Choose any fiction or nonfiction novel that contains at least 150 pages. You may NOT choose a book that you have previously read, is a comic, graphic novel, children’s book, or anime.

Grade 12 - CP

Required READER’S CHOICE - Choose any novel or work of nonfiction containing at least 150 pages that you have not previously read. 

Grade 12 - Honors
