April 13, 2022 Discussion on Big Data and Advanced Marketing training.
It shouldn't come as a surprise that big data, strong email, and effective Facebook tactics are changing the ways that large and small organizations communicate with their communities. However, each tactic can't exist independently and, to effectively communicate, libraries must take a holistic approach to digital strategy. So, do we go beyond a Facebook ad or email and build a more holistic strategy to create effective audiences, reach non-users, and solicit more donations and volunteers? In this presentation, we introduce digital communications theory, review best "big data" practices, and discuss the most effective digital tactics that are used by major issue organizations.

March 9, 2022 Discussion on Effective Messaging training.
Better marketing starts with understanding your audiences and targeting your messaging. In this session, EveryLibrary will discuss some of the most effective marketing strategies used by successful issue organizations and community initiatives. You will learn how we can take advantage of these strategies to create and distribute our own messages. We will explore how to create audiences, how to use a message box, the benefits of 27-9-3 messaging, how to implement effective message models, and how we can create messages in the face of opposition.

February 9, 2022 Discussion on Best PR Practices to Promote Your Library training.
Would you like to get your library into the local media ecosystem? In this session, you'll learn the right way to craft effective communications for the web, PR, email, and newsletters that not only engage potential users but also demonstrate your effectiveness and impact to supporters and stakeholders. You'll learn the skills you need to engage and build relationships with journalists and local reporters to help you gain earned media spots in local publications. This session will be led by Kosi Harris, EveryLibrary's expert Communications and PR coordinator who has experience running communications efforts for a wide range of organizations.

January 12, 2022 Discussion on Advertising or Marketing training.
Many of the "marketing experts” in the library industry confuse paying for advertisements like billboards and bar coasters with creating comprehensive communication and marketing campaigns. While paying for ads, designing flyers, or creating logos and style guides are effective tactics in marketing, they are not what marketing is. In this session, we'll make an in-depth analysis of library advertising and marketing to help attendees understand how to create a comprehensive marketing campaign with measurable goals and outcomes. We'll look at how to ensure that your marketing strategy increases your resources through increased donations, volunteers, community support, and generally returns greater resources to your library than they cost.

December 8, 2021 Discussion on Values Aligned Budgeting.
Library leaders need a keen understanding of the emerging post-COVID social and political climate of their towns and counties in order to position their libraries for future funding success. This starts with the knowledge that funders are not always users and that their decision to fund the library is not generally based on self-interest. Funders - whether elected officials or donors - are often motivated by compassion or pride and may be interested in evidence-based policymaking. EveryLibrary will discuss actionable ways to reframe, rework, and even rewrite your municipal or county budget proposal for stability - and even growth. The only expert in how your library can affect real change and support your community is you. The key to communicating about your funding is knowing what messages resonate with - and activate - current and potential stakeholders.

November 10, 2021 Discussion on Building a Library Coalition training.
Coalitions are at the heart of every library funding success story. Too often, library leaders are isolated from other parts of the community and may not know how to start or join a coalition. Learn how to break through those barriers by being neighborly and build the coalition you need to increase the reach and potential of your organization through stronger relationships. This session will help you identify the organizations, agencies, and stakeholder groups you need to become aligned with and learn how to frame the conversation with individuals and organizations about the library in a new, high-impact way.
